You are starting a new business and you want to differentiate yourself from your competitors with a logo that is so unique it gets everyone talking. Last year, I had a client who is a personalised travel agent. She travels between Cairns and Sydney to give her clients a beautiful experience of  some of Australia’s iconic places in Sydney  +Australia. In North Queensland, you have to travel sometimes on foot to go into the beautiful outback of North Queensland into Daintree. It’s an amazing experience to see cassowaries, freshwater turtles and Ullysses butterflies.

The travel agent explained to the her Chinese travellers that they should keep an eye out for snakes or other types of animals moving in the rainforest. The travel agent is a huge wildlife warrior and turned around to chat about the different environment when suddenly the Chinese group started getting animated and pointing. This time around, there was a cassowary dad with his chicks moving through the rainforest.  She said in a very soft voice without moving:

Don’t move suddenly. Keep very very still. If you yell or get too excited he could attack me! Is there baby chicks at my feet? (They nodded) Yes they are baby cassowaries and the dad does look after them.

This is the wonderful experience of unique travel agent Michelle Jago ( who takes travellers on a beautiful experience within Australia. Michelle creates a personalised experience of any of the unique Australian experiences. I create a variety of symbols for her as her customer wants to experience a range of our unique wildlife. She is wildlife warrior who has a passion for being mindful of how to interact with the wildlife for everyone to see.

To design her logo, I worked out the symbols that best represent her such as a variety of the unique aussie wildlife as well as symbols of the Sydney Harbour Bridge and this is what I created to represent her really unique travel business.

I encourage all of you to create a unique logo for yourself, revamp it every few years and insert your personality into your logo and business cards. There are so many businesses that create the same old thing if they have a business that is common. Stand out from the crowd, change colours, make it fun or make it weird. Just create a brand that you stand for and not be like anyone else.
